Mercurey "En Pierre Milley" Domaine Adélie 2018 6x750ML
VINTAGE | 2018
VARIETAL | 100% Pinot Noir
COLOUR | Bright Crimson
TASTING NOTES | The nose is redolent of wind, fruity aromas with notes of wild berries, plum and peach. The palate is bursting with flavours of candy; it is fleshy and velvety and very smooth. Long, harmonious finish.
FOOD MATCH | Enjoy this wine with grilled red meats, roosted or in red wine sauce, or with feathered game and full-flavoured cheese.
CELLAR | This wine can be drunk when young to fully benefit from the fruitiness or can be laid down for 3 to 5 years in the cellar.
WINEMAKERS NOTES | Mercurey was named after the Roman temple built here to honour the god Mercury. With 650 ha (1606 acres), 85 "village" vineyards and 32 Premier Crus, Mercurey is the largest of the Côte Chalonnaise’s appellations.
In 2005, Albert Bichot’s estates spread to the Chalonnaise slopes, with the creation of "Domaine Adélie" with more than 4 ha (9.8 acres) in the Mercurey appellation. Our two main vineyards are planted on the hillside where they benefit from southwest – western exposure. The soil is rich in clay and well drained due to its stony nature.
The bedrock consists of compacted limestone with a few predominately marly limestone areas.
*Please note, this wine is expected to ship in early April
