Individual Tasting Notes:
Beaujolais "Sélection Parcellaire" 2018
VINTAGE | 2018
TASTING NOTES | The nose is both fi ne and intense with fl oral notes of violet and peony, enhanced by the fruitiness that is characteristic of Gamay. The palate is refreshing and fleshy, subtle yet full-bodied featuring red fruit fl avours. The finish is long, refreshing and ends on a fruity note.
FOOD MATCH | Recommended with cold cuts, Italian dishes, or savoury tarts.
CELLAR | Enjoy this wine within 3 years in order to fully appreciate its fruitiness.
WINEMAKERS NOTES | Located at the southernmost tip of wine-producing Burgundy, the Beaujolais is a region that cannot be ignored. Thanks to Beaujolais Nouveau, this appellation is now famous around the world. But beyond the festive attributes of this wine, it is also a great terroir and the birthplace of the Gamay grape, which fully expresses itself here more than anywhere else. The granite-based soils of the Monts du Beaujolais showcase the characteristics and full potential of this varietal. This part of Burgundy has a warmer climate than the others, which has an infl uence on the characteristics of the wines. They offer gorgeous, round aromas and intense fruit flavours with plenty of nuances.
Mercurey "En Pierre Milley" Domaine Adélie 2018
VINTAGE | 2018
COLOUR | Bright Crimson
TASTING NOTES | The nose is redolent of wind, fruity aromas with notes of wild berries, plum and peach. The palate is bursting with flavours of candy; it is fleshy and velvety and very smooth. Long, harmonious finish.
FOOD MATCH | Enjoy this wine with grilled red meats, roosted or in red wine sauce, or with feathered game and full-flavoured cheese.
CELLAR | This wine can be drunk when young to fully benefit from the fruitiness or can be laid down for 3 to 5 years in the cellar.
WINEMAKERS NOTES | Mercurey was named after the Roman temple built here to honour the god Mercury. With 650 ha (1606 acres), 85 "village" vineyards and 32 Premier Crus, Mercurey is the largest of the Côte Chalonnaise’s appellations.
In 2005, Albert Bichot’s estates spread to the Chalonnaise slopes, with the creation of "Domaine Adélie" with more than 4 ha (9.8 acres) in the Mercurey appellation. Our two main vineyards are planted on the hillside where they benefit from southwest – western exposure. The soil is rich in clay and well drained due to its stony nature.
The bedrock consists of compacted limestone with a few predominately marly limestone areas.
Vadin - Plateau NV Sparking Rose
VINTAGE | NV
COLOUR | Pink Blush
TASTING NOTES | A stunning example of great Rosé. A true reflection of an assemblage Rosé reflecting hints of herbaceous characters, fresh plump strawberries, vanilla & brioche. Not your everyday Rosé, as once again with lower amounts of residual sugar, this is a drier styled champagne.
FOOD MATCH | A great food wine especially with duck confit, blue cheese, foie gras and cured meats, a stunning aperitif as well.
