Verdelho thrives in warmer climes, such as those found in the
Hunter Valley, and this is undoubtedly one of Australia's best - a
real crowd pleaser with its juicy fruit salad flavours and
approachability. This has an appealing bouquet, lively bright
acid as a counterpoint to the sweet fruit and some hints of
citrus. Well-chilled, this is a delightfully zingy thirst
quencher, but it would also be a terrific - and affordable -
partner for a holiday seafood dish.
